Gladys Kavuma joins XENO as COO

XENO, a goal-based investment service that helps people to plan, save, and invest for their financial goals, today announced that Gladys Kavuma has joined its management team as the Chief Operating Officer.

Gladys Kavuma has over 13-years' experience in the financial services industry and has led teams across Africa in Strategy, Business Development, Digital Transformation, Project Management and Treasury Management functions. She was most recently the Head of Strategic Alliances at NCBA Group, a leading regional financial services institution famous for pioneering mobile savings and loans solutions (M-Shwari, M-Pawa & MoKash) in collaboration with some of Africa's largest mobile network operators.

Gladys believes that digital and financial inclusion is key to changing the African narrative; and that Africa’s full potential will be realised through partnerships, cross-industry innovation, and ecosystems development.

Gladys holds a B. Com Economics & Finance degree from the University of Cape Town, a Certificate of Specialisation in Strategy from Harvard Business School Online, Investment Management and Investment Operations certifications from CISI (UK) and has completed the Private Equity & Venture Capital Programme with Strathmore Business School.

“Very few people know more about partnerships, collaboration, and distribution of financial products than Gladys.” said Aéko Ongodia, Founder and CEO of XENO. “We’re delighted she’s joining our team.”

This appointment comes as XENO looks to accelerate customer acquisition in Uganda, enter new markets, and collaborate with other distribution partners.
