KAMPALA, UGANDA – XENO Uganda announced a near 28% growth in its total assets under management, rising from UGX 76.6 Billion to UGX 98 Billion over the past year. Driven by a disciplined Goal-Based Investing strategy, over 850,000 users across the region relied on XENO to secure their financial plans despite an unpredictable global environment.
Speaking at the Annual General Meeting, the Chairman Mr. Aeko Ongodia emphasized the company's focus on resilience. "We protect the habit by diversifying across four professionally managed unit trust funds. Think of a table with four legs instead of one," he noted. "We do not ask you to wager everything on a single outcome. We build something designed to withstand the seasons, because the seasons will always change."
Fund Performance Breakdown
To shield savers from inflation and provide steady returns, XENO’s four core unit trust funds delivered strong results:
The XENO Uganda Money Market Fund: Providing short-term liquidity, the fund grew from UGX 12.9 billion to UGX 16.8 billion, generating a 13.37% average yield and UGX 1.66 billion in profit.
The XENO Uganda Bond Fund: Investing in high-quality government and corporate debt, the fund expanded from UGX 60.8 billion to UGX 76.7 billion, delivering a 16.52% average yield and UGX 8.6 billion in profit.
The XENO Uganda Domestic Equities Fund: Investing in companies listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange, the fund grew to UGX 1.45 billion with a 34.58% annual return, contributing UGX 317 million in profit.
The XENO Uganda Regional Equities Fund: Investing across East African markets including Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, and Kigali, the fund expanded to UGX 2.99 billion with a 45.34% annual return, adding UGX 836 million in profit.
John Kamara, Country Manager XENO, highlighted the real-world impact behind the numbers. "XENO's Unit Trust Funds delivered a total profit of 11.4bn in the year, up 44% from 2024.
